DIY Portable Lego Tote

June 3, 2017 by Amy Leave a Comment

It’s road trip season!  Not only do we need to plan that awesome summer getaway, but we also have to think about how to entertain the kids in the car for hours and hours and hours. The ABC game will only get us so far, and I Spy gets a little silly with youngsters.  My kids love building with LEGOs, but keeping them contained can be tricky. I built a couple of Portable LEGO Totes and guess what, they actually like them, sweet!

I made two versions:

  • blue/red – the lid flips down providing a playing surface with LEGO compatible baseplates and an acrylic wall creates a compartment for the LEGOs while allowing them to still be seen.
  • purple/aqua – the lid flips up and has 2 optional acrylic dividers to help organize the LEGOs in the box.
