Spring has sprung in Utah, which means 50’s one day, snow the next day and back to 50’s.  Snow or not, it’s time to get the yard cleaned up for the new growth! I slacked in the Fall, so I have quite a bit to trim back. 🙁 As part of the Home Depot Tool Prospective program, I get the chance to try out some of Milwaukee’s battery yard tools. I prefer to have battery operated yard tools. Then I don’t have to worry about maintenance of the gas/oil engines, pull strings, chokes, etc!  The only drawback of battery tools is the run time of the battery and how long it takes to recharge if you don’t have a backup battery. That’s one area I’ll definitely be looking at for these tools.

Milwaukee Cordless Random Orbit Sander Tool Review

My first glance at the M18 cordless Random Orbit Sander was at a tool expo and I was drawn to the shape and the promise of smooth operation. I am excited to get my hands on one and take it for a spin.

When I first tried battery operated sanders about 4 years, they weren’t my favorite. I would still go for the corded models for serious sanding. The battery operated ones would only be used when outlets were difficult to come by. However I have been super impressed by the progression in the last two years.  I am quickly cutting the cords left and right.

I have been in the thick of building my kid’s a fun basement playhouse (ie toy room) down in the scary basement. The playhouse design includes quite a bit of shiplap for the siding and interior walls. Adding all of the shiplap and tongue and groove floor/ceiling made for the perfect project to test out the Ridgid 15 ga angled finish nailer and Ridgid quiet compressor.

Nothing makes a job/project harder than not having the right tool and not being able to see what you’re doing. Of course limited space is high up on that list too. Today I’m reviewing some of Husky’s super bright LED personal work lights.

Husky LED lights:

To test these lights out, I head to the deepest darkest scariest room in the house…the cold storage.  As you can see, it’s really dark in there, dark enough to keep scared-y cats out of there.
